30.04.23. #frodshammarsh: A good turnout of 23 birders joined me on my my guided walk as part of the 'Frodsham Festival of Walk' in torrential rain for most of it. The highlights included: Spotted Redshank, c500 Black-tailed Godwit, Ruffs, Little Ringed Plover, Wheatear, Stonechat, singing Eurasian Skylark and many Common Swifts (some close overhead). Later in the day I made a second visit where the Black Tern was present until an immature Peregrine zipped through and scared it off. A thousand Black-tailed Godwits were on No.6 tank with 21 Bar-tailed Godwit (one attaining partial summer plumaged), 45 Dunlin, 1 Red Knot and 3 drake Garganey including the drakes courting a female Common Teal.
