@lea google is just shit.
I can recommend http://frogfind.com / #FrogFind made by #ActionRetro which takes #DuckDuckDo and makes shit #accessible...

@maximemelian @ActionRetro @svenja
In fact, #FrogFind is propably one of the few websites that are useable on #Iridium 2,4 kbit/s #narrowband connections without having to wait minutes if not hours at costs in the USD per min...
#narrowband #iridium #frogfind
@menelion *nodds in agreement*
Instead I think it's important to recommend services that are #accessible.

Like the http://68k.news and http://frogfind.com - both courtesy of @ActionRetro ...
#68kNews is a News Aggregator that pulls Google News, and #FrogFind is a #WebProxy that makes sites accessible by basically stripping everything but text and links from it.

Eeyupp...
Personally, I think that such a "removal" would only work well with a sort-of private #Proxy setup similar to #FrogFind [ http://frogfind.com ] by @ActionRetro
#WebDevs like @fuchsiii would scream at this point since this can be weaponized for #malware and #phishing easily, as it would literally require to perform #MITM attacks!
The best that I can think of would be something like #ShinigamiEyes since that only applies a custom #CSS [colour of font].

@hspmauli Ja, #Tech muss mehr #Barrierefreiheit haben...
Ich bin mir jedoch sicher dass #FrogFind als #Startseite sicherlich das Browsen erleichtert...
Ein auf #Barrierefreiheit optimiertes System wäre natürlich ideal...
#startseite #frogfind #barrierefreiheit #Tech
@hspmauli @ActionRetro Ich persönlich nutze #FrogFind mit dem @torproject #TorBrowser weil somit Surfen in #EDGEland oder per #Iridium nicht komplett unbrauchbar lahm ist...

Someone please tell Adrian from his Digital Basement to check out @ActionRetro 's #FrogFind.com, cuz he seems amazed by milk.com...

Also yeah, frogfind.com just works on everything!

@48kRAM that's why I use #DuckDuckGo if not #FrogFind on #LynxBrowser:
Once you've experience the speed of a minimalist #web, you don't want to go back!

@smallsco @colin_mcmillen Q: Anyone tried #Mastodon via @ActionRetro's #FrogFind and associated #WebProxy?
Ideally I'd love to see a #SelfHosting-capable version of that for deployment in a #LAN so one would not have to worry about the #SSL-stripping and stuff...
#ssl #lan #SelfHosting #WebProxy #frogfind #Mastodon
@DaemonFC I guess using the #TorBrowser is kinda necessary...
But yeah, I wished someone would make some nifty #SelfHosting-capable "slimming" proxy akin to @ActionRetro's #FrogFind.
Because I want the web to be useable with #EDGElamd if not #Iridium bandwiths.
And of that means stripping out everything that isn't text then that's fine by me.
Ideally it should however support #SSL & auth tho - at least to said #proxy so one can use one outside a #VPN.

@learosema Personally, I'm convinced most #web2.0 [don't get me started on the #scam that is #web3] is just #bloatware and should be dismissed.
I think that @ActionRetro shows how much #bloat is unnecessary...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_v2_vTogS8
[tho I think #SSL is a valid and important tech and I sincerely disrecommend trying to use #FrogFind and it's proxy for online banking]...

@Santral #FrogFind is a search engine by @ActionRetro, created in 2021 to allow older computers to be able to access websites they otherwise normally can't in the modern age. Its website is http://frogfind.com. There's also http://68k.news, which allows for reading Google News in a similar matter.
Action Retro created a video about them when they both came out:
https://inv.dembased.xyz/watch?v=c_v2_vTogS8
@nafnlj also made an article about FrogFind (inspired by one of my posts, actually):
https://thenewleafjournal.com/frogfind-vintage-computer-search-review/
Hope this information helped!
The New York Times article they wanted your email address for:
The article can be viewed in #FrogFind by @ActionRetro, as done in the link above.

@claudiom I'm glad @ActionRetro joined the fediverse on November 2022. I liked #FrogFind, his search engine for older computers that I use to read articles with privacy. @nafnlj even wrote an article about it based on a discussion I had on the fediverse where I mentioned it.

#frogfind is so awesome not just for old machines, I use this one liner to power like 80% of how i surf the web:
` ribbit () { w3m frogfind.com/?q="$1"; } `
@SuperSelena64 #FrogFind was made by @ActionRetro. I use it to view websites without JavaScript and trackers. Glad he came onto the fediverse!
@anticomputer maybe throw #FrogFind in the mix. It's a search engine that strips the result down to basic #HTML.
