Am I right in thinking this is #FrogSpawn? It’s about 9cm (3½in) across, and it’s on the stone steps from our basement up to the back garden. It seems awfully sad…

Updated pond photo 😂📸. Yesterday we waited outside for the ☀ to reach the pond - dedicated to the cause of photographing the tadpoles and frogspawn 👀⛅🌞. A bit tricky to see but in the left hand photo the dark patches around the brick at the bottom of the pond are masses of tadpoles just 'hatched' from their spawn. On the right, there is still frogspawn around the plant. We'll keep an eye on them all and provide updates/better photos! 😀👍🐸 #tadpoles #frogspawn #pondlife #spring

We've been trying to take decent photos of what's going on with the tadpoles and frogspawn in the pond but it's not going very well 😂 We need the 🌞 to come out and shine through the water! Some of the tadpoles are swimming around, others are still spawn. There's still frogspawn on the plant in the photo. We'll try again this week! 👍📷💕 #frogs #tadpoles #frogspawn #wildlifepond

My partner brought me home a present last weekend, a jam jar full of frogspawn. It was decided it was too cold to put them in the pond just then so they have been lodging in the spare room all week. Most have now turned into tadpoles so they will be evicted tonight now the weathers milder into the pond #frogwatch #tadpoles #frogspawn

Looks like a decent crop of frog spawn this year. No toad spawn yet, but it’s early days.

Lord knows how many individual eggs it represents; I did a quick count of one tiny section and tried to extrapolate, and it must be many thousands.
