Here are my slides from #FrontZurich about "Weird Things You Missed About #CSS"
Usually I post a companion article, but this time I'm thinking bigger 👀
If you didn’t see the talk I gave at #frontzurich last Friday — the one where the audience did not throw tomatoes at me — and you want to see it, here’s a link. It starts somewhere around 51:23.
See you next year, #frontzurich. I will talk to you about clocks. Exclusively.
Time to head home from a marvellous few days in Zurich. I made new friends, I hung out with (by now) old friends and had a great time at #FrontZurich 🇨ðŸ‡
Just spoke at #FrontZurich about popovers and dialogs! Please find slides and links on https://talks.hiddedevries.nl/Jl79qc/dialog-dilemmas-and-modal-mischief-a-deep-dive-into-popovers-and-how-to-build-them
#FrontZurich Aw, that feeling of not being enough, not doing enough, not trying hard enough, not showing enough value, as a daughter, as a designer described by Sara Watcher Boettcher sadly rings too many bells. "Just do more". "You are not doing enough". That's horrible gaslighting.
Expect: you can't win. You can't overwork yourself into showing your value to people who don't want to see it.
Thank you #FrontZurich! It was so nice talking web animation things with you all!
Seeing some very cool container-query (and query-unit) animation demos from @vlh at #FrontZurich
(photo thanks to Andreas Nebiker, because Val keeps hiding from me behind the lectern)
#FrontZurich I love how @vlh is describing container queries and animations: you need to know the stage space, like in the theater, where your animation will play.
#FrontZurich Important information about information architecture priorization by
@tripelle look at your current traffic and optimize accordingly. Also don't forget that users have their own logic, culture plays a big role.
Excited to be co-hosting #FrontZurich this year! The lineup of talks is amazing, looking forward to watching all the sessions!
#FrontZurich Time to stop (sorry) masturbating about should designers name their layers and talk about the real issues, how to influence products directly, so that don't do harm to users, says Cynthia Savard Saucier. That's the seat of the table you want!
#FrontZurich There's a previous version of my talk available as an article. I will update it with the new slides soon, but at least you already have all the resources I talked about: https://stephaniewalter.design/blog/a-designers-guide-to-documenting-accessibility-user-interactions/
Hello #FrontZurich,
if you want to follow along, or take a nap and come back later, my slides are online:

I'm a UX researcher now, but my background is also in front-end. Watching @brad_frost talk about all the evolutions in the web and pattern libraries at @front brings a lot of memories. Front-end will always have a special place in my heart 💜
