I’ve just walked around Yarra Bend Park, and the colony which was 10,000 + animals last time I was here a few years ago, is completely absent! Have they spontaneously relocated themselves after twenty years residency? Is it climate change? Disease? Did I somehow stuff it up and just go at the wrong time of day? #fruitbats

When I'm home, I can count 5-10 flying over my house at dusk (I live on a mountain), also groups in flight over the Pavaiai Valley at dusk. I've also seen single #fruitbats flying around the Pago Pago Harbor area throughout the day and groups sleeping in trees around the capital area. #mammals #Oceania #BatsOfMastodon #Batstodon
