I've just bought a second hand Mission centre surround sound speaker M7C1 as an extension speaker for my #yaesu #ft891 This was after I'd read, I think, a #practicalwirelessmagazine article on doing this. I must say it works really well and does make it easier to pick out weak station voice audio. Much cheaper than dedicated #hamradio speakers.

Yesterday the propagation was on my side and I managed to have a #FT8 QSO with #3D2AG from #Fiji island on 15m band.
This is one of my longest QSOs with distance of 14421km. This was accomplished with Yaesu #FT891 running 30W to 80m #EFHW antenna.
3D2AG writes on his QRZ page that short path to Europe is blocked by mountains so this might have been long path QSO. I don't know how to verify that if that's even possible?

However, the radio specs say 2A. I confused these two.
I wanted to use my #digirig with an #ft891 connected to a #raspberrypi and ran into problems with it always going into continuous sending when connecting. The achilles heel of the Yaesu FT-891 is probably the power connector. Mine started to go wonky, so I did the thing most other reasonable people would do, I converted my rig to the Anderson Powerpole standard. Watch now to see how it's done:
