Shitty #ADSL cabling lines are like 2,8km long so all the #FTTC bs DOESN'T WORK and everything above 6M/1M [i.e. 18M/3M #ADSL2+ ] basically has so much packet loss and errors that it's even slower than the 6M/1M line before.

Fixed that at said location by getting #FTTB + #DOCSIS installed in the house.

Stamattina hanno messo la scatola per la #fibraottica al muro di casa mia e al resto della via. Il tecnico mi ha detto che ci vorranno un paio di mesi prima che i lavori siano ultimati. Sinceramente non so se passerò alla fibra #ftth. I 120/20 che ho con la #FTTC mi bastano.

Why can we not have open hardware compatible with all #broadband suppliers, negating the need for companies sending out new routers each time? Why can't there be something akin to SIM cards on mobile phones that can then allow any unlocked device to be used?

Reduce, THEN reuse, THEN recycle.

One for UK peeps: anyone got experience of #NowBroadband for #FTTC broadband? It’s time to switch and their prices look good, along with a 12 month contract. Always a bit wary of online reviews which slate them (people love to moan), so looking for realistic opinions.

I’ll be switching from #BTBroadband, which has given solid performance - 71mbps down, 20mbps up. Am I likely to see a speed drop with a budget provider? Not too worried about WiFi performance - just the actual internet connection.
