Last week my problem with the #fuboTV streaming service on my Apple TV was atrocious picture quality and buffering. This week the pic quality was fine but… in addition to the audio that was part of the stream, I got A SECOND audio stream playing at a lower volume “behind” the main audio stream, at the same time. This time I checked and I was NOT able to reproduce the problem using my TV’s own webOS app for Fubo. So the problem appeared limited to the tvOS app.

Will the problems ever end?

TFW when you choose to record a series, with the preference set to recording “new episodes only”, and somehow the provider (#fuboTV) systematically fails to automatically schedule a recording of new episodes, which you still have to schedule manually EVERY SINGLE WEEK.

What exactly is the point of a recording a series if it doesn’t automatically record new episodes?

Well, to #FuboTV’s credit, I submitted a report on my streaming troubles yesterday online and they called me back on the phone today. I patiently explained the issue and they didn’t make me go through all kinds of obvious steps I had already explained I had taken. They offered to file a ticket with the engineers, and they gave me a customer care phone number (1-844-441-3826) to call if and when the problem happens again (next weekend?).

Streamer #fuboTV (Canada) on Sunday evening when everyone wants to watch the EPL games of the day: see pictures.

Other streamers (Netflix, Apple TV+) on Sunday evening at the same time: perfectly fine.

Streamer #fuboTV on Monday morning when no one is up yet: very good HD quality, with no buffering whatsoever.

Conclusion? FuboTV’s infrastructure is not good enough. Time to urgently purchase more bandwidth, fellas! We paid for this.

Still trying to figure how any streamer gets away with calling this picture “HD”. Believe it or not, this is actually the quality I get when it works OK, which, more often than not, it does NOT, and the #fuboTV picture quality degrades further, to that of a QuickTime video ca. 1995, which is unwatchable.

But of course, it’s all my fault. It’s my Internet connection. It’s my “browser”. (This is on Apple TV. Every other service works fine.)

I paid good money for this crap. What a rip-off.

Speedvision, a cable channel that eventually turned into FS1, is making a comeback and just signed a distribution deal with FuboTV. I suppose launching a cable channel in a market where the audience is declining could be a fun, but I'm not certain it will find any long term success.

#FuboTV is raising their prices. The Pro and Elite packages will be going up $5 for all existing customers starting in February. The Ultimate plan will be discontinued but a new Premier plan will be introduced at $5 less than the Ultimate plan.

In addition, FuboTV's RSN fee will go to $10.99 for one RSN or $13.99 for two RSN's (if you live in a two RSN market). This seems to be in response to adding Bally's back in to the lineup.

It sounds like RSN network provider Diamond Sports Group, owner of the Bally Sports network of RSNs, is negotiating with #vMVPDs again. They just inked a 3-year deal with #FuboTV, nearly three years after the networks left the service.
