On #YouTube's homepage (once signed in) there's a section called "Shorts" for portrait orientation video. It's "We can do TikTok too!" by YouTube employees.

It's shit. OK, it's shit *in my opinion*, there. I'm being diplomatic.

So recognising how bad it is and the backlash, YouTube offers an "X", a "not interested" option to click in the section's top right.

What does it do? Just disable the feature, surely?

No. On click: "Shelf will be hidden for 30 days".
