I live on an island that supplies over 100% of its own needs with renewables & yet its islanders are fuel poor

Here's someone who doesn't need to worry about the #costoflivingcrisis:

The CEO of #Centrica, who own #BritishGas has just been paid £4.5mn for a year's work.... work, which you will recall has involved plunging a large part of the country into #fuelpoverty.

The vast majority of #shareholders were happy with his pay deal, demonstrating, that the world of #financialservices operates at one remove from the rest of the country.

For the example of Kirklees, UK about decentralised renewable energy generation:

> Household savings under the Warm Zones program total around C$16 million per year, money that is available to spend in the region on other things. One hundred direct jobs were created and another 60 indirect jobs. At least 1,000 households have been removed from fuel poverty.
