What's the difference?
Tesla's Autopilot system is fed nothing but camera footage and attempts to use object-recognition to figure out what's in front of the car.
Every other automaker uses a combo of optical and radar inputs, the latter able to construct a full 3D profile of what's ahead of the car.
Radar can recognize actual obstacles instantly. Cameras alone cannot.
