Dear #functionalcafe users,

About a week ago, Stripe notified me that the account I'm using for receiving Credit Card donations will be terminated on the 24th December, since donations are against their service policies.

So I had to create another account on https://liberapay.com/mdallastella/ which has a partnership with Stripe for donations.

So, if you signed up for a recurrent donation via Credit Card and you want to keep donating to functional.cafe, on January you need to delete the recurrent donation here and move to LiberaPay.

Bad news for those who kindly set up a recurrent donation via Stripe.

Stripe decided to terminate my account, looks like donations are against their service policies. The account will work until 24th December.

In the meantime I'll look for an alternative, I'll keep you posted.

#functionalcafe felt the hugging for sure, but luckly we are a small instance (450~ users) so the impact isn't so big...

I believe #fediverse should be more about small "specialized" communities interacting with each other than having big generic instances with no really defined scope, just my 2 cents.

If you want to customize it yourself, here's an example userstyle that should work for Mastodon 4.0 once the instance is upgraded:

Do you want to go back to the good old "Toot!" text, keep the more neutral "Publish!" or you have any suggestion?

Keep in mind that you can always "hack" the user interface with a userstyle
