This is why I love #3Dprinting, the ability to create something functional and unique. Custom builds for a specific projects maybe no one else in world even cares about

One of the little rotating hooks in our bedroom blinds broke. A very small piece, and I couldn't practically remove the individual hook to replace it with a whole new hook (if I had one or printed one) without completely disassembling the whole set of blinds.
I managed to make a little piece that flexes around the body of the hook, resting inside on the inset from the hook's diagonal approach. This seemed to be strong, just from a clip-on fit. Added a new hook to the end of this, buffed out the back for some extra Z-strength around the thinnest point.
Blinds all good again. I should reprint this in transparent plastic though.
Needed a nice way to tidy a few little things in this area. Printed some runners to mount under the table and drawer to fit them. Screwed the runner in and slid the drawer in and done! Love a #FunctionalPrint #3Dprint #3DPrinting
I ran out of filament mid print, hence the color change, but am printing a black facade with a handle to hide the brown.

NFC embedded in 3d printed convention badge demonstration. I’ll be adding mastodon and my business email to this as well, got too tired to add more last night. (And I’m redrawing the app icons)

The wife accidentally melted the air fryer handle on a saucepan… somehow. I pried the handle off and saw it had friction lock clips on. They wouldn’t print well in the obvious orientation. I did see they had roughly M4 sized screw holes under the handle though! I took a photo traced the outline in an SVG. Imported to #TinkerCAD and extruded, then added some countersunk M4 holes. #3Dprinted a 0.3 mm layer to check the fit and then did the full #FunctionalPrint

#3DPrinting some hardcore dice storage for a friend that is really into tabletop wargaming.
After all the pieces are printed, I plan to paint the outside with something thematically appropriate, but I have yet to decide what that will be.

Needed a way to screw in a new plug hole for the shower. It has these little notches in so #3Dprinted this #FunctionalPrint. It slots inside and gives me some grip on it.
I am new to 3D printing but I’m having a lot of fun learning. The community having been kind and helpful. This is my first real print, a holder for toothbrushes and toothpaste. #3dprinting #functionalprint
Completed my first 3D print from a model designed in FreeCAD. These are simple little brackets that make storage bins that are designed to nest into ones that stack.
The learning curve from Fusion360 to FreeCAD was shorter than going from SketchUp to Fusion360 but I still have a lot to learn. Nice to be productive in it so quickly though.

This is a real #functionalprint. Not the prettiest solution, but definitely the simplest.
Got a new TV and the soundbar wouldn't fit on the TV stand so I printed risers for the legs.
Next step is going to be to take one of the legs off and CAD up a new version that doesn't require risers.
And after a little modification it’s done! #3Dprinting #functionalprint #TwitchStreamers #twitch #TwitchAffilate

Hello, world!
For a first post: Here's a hard-drive caddy I made for shoving more HDDs into a Fractal Design Node 804 home media server case.
It's got some improvements over the stock caddy you can buy for the 804: HDDs are individually removable, it has tabs to attach fans to, and I can print as many as I'd like!
the models need some tweaking to perfect the curves on the back of the monitor, but otherwise these speaker scoops came out pretty nice and work better than I would have imagined #functionalprint #3dprinting (acer xf243y p)
