You are so correct. Religious #fundamentalists here are basically admitting that they have absolutely no self-control, and would molest a woman if they saw a square inch of her body. They are so wrapped up in #misogyny that they don't even get they are admitting something awful about themselves. This behavior isn't restricted to Islam, there are many fundamentalist misogynists in Christianity, and even in parts of my own Jewish community

I'm not a big fan of Empire because (a) torture is a hard nope for me and (b) the ending was a real downer because (c) the rest of y'all were disappointed (for some reason) with Return of the Jedi only 3 years after Empire came out, at most.

I was raised by #fundamentalists and Leia's bikini scene (I assume that was it) prevented me from seeing Jedi when I was a teenager and I didn't actually get around to it until I was 24 and borrowed the DVD from a guy who lived down the hall in college.

It's not imperialism to protect #Muslim #women from being hurt by religious #fundamentalists. It's common decency. I've spoken with women refugees from Islamic nations, who were beaten, assaulted, and threatened with rape, if they didn't wear a #hijab. My friends and I stand with victims escaping extremist patriarchy. The goal is to create a safe community where women can walk the streets without worrying that they will be forced or shamed into covering themselves

Because when it comes down to it, it only works if you agree with their dogma.
