@AnOldGuy US statistics are not as easy to find, but:
US housing units 2021: 128.5 million
US unoccupied housing units: 16 million
US pop. 2021: 335 million
Est. US homeless pop: 585,500
(335 million pop)/(128.5 million housing units)=
2.6 people/housing unit
(16,000,000 unoccupied homes)/(585,500 homeless people)=
27.3 empty houses/unhoused person

My weight this morning is the lowest I have been since Saturday. 2 days isn't so special. However, before Saturday, the last time I saw that number was 11 May 2021. If I go down 1 more pound, the last time I saw a number that low was 30 May 2018! I had lost some weight in 2021, but my lowest was apparently half a pound over that number. I have a ways to go, but my progress so far is nice.

Remarkably, the average cost of disasters in NOAA's "billion dollar" disaster dataset has decreased since 1980
How can this be in non-normalized data?!
Answer: The unbelievableπ increase in small disasters has a stronger effect than increasing overall losses

I sort of like this question (maybe get the first years to do it) but the English need to be improved... "the" is the definite article so there needs to be an unique answer for the grammar to work.

I'm genuinely baffled by this question from my daughter's homework. What is the intended answer? Maybe I'll find out over the next week.
