@Ferles - Re: #FurryGeezer - the real origin goes back to when the late, great friend of mine "Jugular Jaguar" (aka Draconis or Loren McLaughlin) discussed older furries sitting on lawnchairs and watching the grass grow, & yelling/telling youngsters to "Stay off my lawn!" (see also recent "touch grass!" arguments.)

#Greymuzzle & #FurryGeezer are voluntary words & signs of affection. Use by young furs as derogatories shows their ignorance, prejudice & disrespect. #greymuzzle is a self taken sign of maturity & enjoying better things in life. Also I'm now an involuntary member of #FurryUndead , as I've been defibrulated 6+ times, & still alive. So, if your heart ever stopped - then restarted, you can be #furryundead .

We also need to start a #undeaddogparty theme for cons. That would be so awesome/cool.

@lupestripe You realize it’s not going to happen, right? I actually take pride in being a #greymuzzle. And I’m also proud to be a #furrygeezer (for those furries over 55.) The context was always appreciative, denoting maturity and fun later in life. Only recently did anyone consider it derogatory and age discriminatory.

Damn it… A family friend just went on terminal leave with ALS, and put on a vent 24/7… (sighs) This is the part of being a #furrygeezer that I really hate. I am blessed with the friendship I’ve made, but it just sucks to see other pass on…

@LexYeen All good info, but I would offer that it be amended only to say that Ken should be credited with the “creation of foundational concepts for the modern fandom of furry characters and use of a fursonae.” Animal-Human anthropomorphic anthropology predates the fandom and Ken, perhaps by centuries in American Indian, Greco-Roman and Egyptian mythos. But the current narrative and vision are absolutely as you offer herein, and I welcome its reminder. (See also #furrygeezer )
