That's physicist #MaxTegmark's reputation buggered. His #FutureOfLife institute behind the open letter should have known better, and its incompetence will hinder credible criticism of AI/Machine Learning.

I have just signed #FutureofLife's open letter calling for a 6-month moratorium on the roll out of AI programs beyond GPT. I think we need far more than six months to resolve these issues but at least it is a start. I admit that I'm somewhat curious about why so many of the signatories are themselves active in developing AI systems, so hope that this isn't just a craven attempt for them to play catch up. But AI must be regulated so I signed on because of that call.
