I've been out of town for a while, and I came home to the news that I'll be doing #futurescapes in August! Hooray for another chance to level up!

Today’s #futurescapes session was great! We went over query letters! And now I’m off to edit mine… :blobfoxcomputer:

Is it just my impression or has it indeed become harder to sell novels that center trauma? I have only anecdotal evidence, so I wonder what others think about this.

My query went through three sessions of the #Futurescapes workshop, QueryShark, and several other agents. I even disclose my personal trauma, for authenticity. My confidence in my pages has been confirmed by others many times.

But I only ever get form rejections, even from the agents that helped me with the query.

Officially moved my goal of querying in February to April. There was no way I would be ready. Life is too busy and I learned too much at #futurescapes ... so there are too many edits to make.

In March, I'll be going to the online #Futurescapes Writers' Workshop.

With the #futurescapes workshop wrapping up today, I'm honestly overwhelmed by the list of things I want to fix / improve in my manuscript. These workshops are a gift, but damn... I have so much work to do. #writingcommunity #editing

@ChristineBirchwood I did #Futurescapes online earlier in the year and it was fabulous. Highly recommend! (Even if like me you have to wake up at 4am to log on)

#futurescapes has been great this year! Getting feedback in 200 pages makes a huge difference and really allows the group to explore these novels as novels, not just as little snippets. #writing #writingcommunity #editing
