The 1st episode of MCU'S "Secret Invasion" is giving me such "Slow Horses" vibes (the MI6 spy streaming series starring Gary Oldman). That's a *Good* thing.

Anyways I'm enjoying this and I can't comment any further than that without giving away *major*, major spoilers just for the 1st episode of six. Personally a recommended watch from me.

I wish VLC media player would develop an adaptive HDR (High Dynamic Range) adaptive color filter for playback of digital streams/digital video files.

Y'know so that, for example, those awfully dark Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon scenes would be viewable on lowly 1920 x 1080 TFT LCD laptop screens...

Since like, even if my phone screen is *objectively* higher-resolution than my laptop screen, fact remains my phone screen is goddamnawfull small!

I'm *almost*, almost unsure about whether it is mastodon.cloud or mstdn.id that would last longer.

('Last longer' in the sense of surviving technological & financial challenges, not disappearing in the next three to five years, etc.)

...but if push comes to shove, at least for today right this very moment, I think I'm still betting on mastodon.cloud on this.

Chapter 22 of #TheMandalorian (the latest episode, ep.6 ssn.3) is awesome! The cameos were awesome and very appropriate. The plot twist at the chapter ending could have been so much cornier but as they handled it, it makes perfect sense in-universe. And I love the overall flow. Nice one, I love it!

One thing that really frustrates me about my current laptop is that one day it can operate all day without crashing even once (like today), and on other days beginning in the morning the laptop would crash within three minutes of me booting it up from cold (power off) and keep rebooting every 30 minutes or one hour.

And I can't seem to isolate what's causing the random reboots and crashes.
Almost to the point that this evening, at around 7:18pm, I'm thinking I should wipe my hard drive clean and reinstall everything clean.

But I was forced to do a complete wipe about 16 months ago and I still wound up with the broken system I have today, the one I'm typing these very words into this evening.

So yeah, I'm still constantly worried that my laptop would blue-screen on me, even though at this moment my computer has been running straight for I think about sixteen hours.

And a curse on you and your seven generation of offsprings to anyone suggesting I install a Linuxen on my laptop. I DO NOT ASK YOUR OPINION ON THIS!!!111!111.

I too feel sorry for the shuttering of DPReview (Digital Photography Review) by Amazon Corp. due to DPReview not being profitable "enough" for Amazon.

But frankly though? DPReview *is not* the only digital photography website doing the meticulous gear testing et cetera. It sucks ass, sure, that Amazon will be freezing the site per April 2023. But one reason no one is thinking of scraping the site to copy elsewhere is because *the data already are elsewhere*.
