Oh yes. - I've had a few cats since Tigre. My current cat gNibbles isn't a cuddly cat. She can't stand to be petted beyond what she needs.

You'll get told politely once to stop if you're invading her comfort zone.
But, she'll ASK for a few ear scratches.
