The slight downside to the #gaggia is not being fully able to control the amount of coffee. It's like a #kirby mini game trying to turn it off and hit 36g. Also hitting start on the shonky scales at the same time as starting it.... Anyway, this #espresso shot tastes great, despite being 1.6g over!

Since I've started temperature surfing on the #gaggia I think I've totally nailed a consistent #espresso.

When you take your #Gaggia #CoffeeMachine out of storage after a few years and realise it only needs a good flush through with descaler as opposed to a new boiler, pheeewwwwww!!!! That was a little blind panic moment I must say!

She's certainly pretty, and after initial setup and about 20 shots being pulled I'm getting a nice colour and crema. This is with the Gaggia beans that came with the machine, hopefully once the freshly roasted beans arrive I can get some really great espresso 🤞

Update: I have now installed a 9-bar spring into my #Gaggia Classic Pro, upgraded the burr in my #Baratza grinder, and have a #VST precision basket on the way. The rabbit hole is pretty deep, but not “installing a #PID,” deep.

I've had my #Gaggia Classic Pro for about a week, now. I've ordered a 9-bar spring mod, a bottomless portafilter and a burr upgrade for my #Baratza grinder. I've watched numerous videos on the subject of pre-infusion, temperature surfing and coffee distribution tools.

I replaced the group head gasket to a silicone version and added a shot timer to my Gaggia Classic. I also bought a WDT to distribute the coffee. I’ve also started weighing my beans. I’m note sure if it will improve the taste, but I hope so!
