Ruturaj Gaikwad was appointed as the captain of India's squad for the Hangzhou Asian Games, while IPL star Rinku Singh also received his well-deserved inclusion. Rinku, whose absence from the T20 series in the Caribbean raised questions, has now secured a place in the squad for the Asian Games, scheduled to take place from September 23 to October 8.

India's Test stalwart Cheteshwar Pujara has been dropped as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) men’s selection committee on Friday announced India’s squad for the upcoming two-match Test series and three ODIs against the West Indies. He was dropped following a poor run of form after scoring only 211 runs in his last six matches with one half-century to his name.
