Gail Brodholt is a painter and printmaker of contemporary urban scenes. Using a subtle but rich palette, she focuses on strong composition and draughtsmanship. Her work is concerned with journeys, both actual and temporal, providing an outsider’s narrative on present day London, tinged with certain nostalgia for the railways and tube trains. People may be present but anonymous. Often, only the setting alludes to the possible presence of people within the scene
