I do think that the #Google #PixelFold’s wider front display is much more usable than the #Samsung #GalaxyFold but you just can’t rely on them to support their products/services, even in the medium term.

What do you think about using your #Smartphone as a #Desktop? #SamsungDeX (#DEX) could be a possibility. Running multiple and free scalable windows at the same time. Using #SSH, #GIT, #VSCode (#VisualStudioCode) and do you casual #DevOps, #Frontend, #Backend things done. #Terminus also provides you a fully #CLI environment. An external keyboard and mouse can be connected by USB-C (or even USB-A by a USB hub) or #Bluetooth connection.
#Gaming? Sure - just give streaming services like #GeForceNow, #XCloud/#XboxCloudGaming a try to even play triple A games like #Battlfield5, #Battlefield2042 or #FIFA2023 on your smartphone in Desktop mode.
Now, with #foldable #devices like the #GalaxyFold (#GalaxyFold4, #GalaxyFold5) you might have a #smartphone, #tablet and #computer/#notebook in a single device without any further need of #syncing files via #cloud #services.

Man. I really wanted this to be the year I get a Galaxy Fold (because I love editing photos and videos on my phone, and my S23 Ultra's stylus is so good for that but a larger screen would be welcome!), but you just know next year's 6 is going to be the one that takes a big leap in form factor and capability.

Very good looking and feels right when it's folded. When it's unfolded, it looks dated. Galaxy Z Fold4 looks and feels nicer and well made when it's unfolded. The difference between the 1st gen or 4th gen.
ピクセルフォールド、閉じてるとカッコいいけど、開くと野暮ったく見える。ケース無しの状態で比べるとZ Fold4 の方が洗練された感じ。1代目と4代目の違いを感じる。

Some 28 years after failing to finish it (mainly thanks to the crossovers blowing my tweenage budget), I've finally finished Age of Apocalypse!
Really loving #MarvelUnlimited combined with my #GalaxyFold. It's reignited my long-lost love for #comics & the writing and artwork of some of the more modern releases is really something to behold. Time to read an issue is perfect for bedtime reading, & probably healthier than the usual doomscrolling 😁.

On the off chance there are new tooters like myself who are also #GalaxyFold users, I've found the web app is actually the optimal way to use Mastodon on Fold.
Use Chrome to add it to Home with its own shortcut, & the great payoff is that when opening into full screen mode it'll switch seamlessly into multi-column mode (if enabled).
I like Tusky too, but the web app is the best option for an open Fold right now I think.
