Haven’t posted these here. Me cosplaying Thirteen ahead of meeting Jodie in LA. Considering the wig was £10 I was pleasantly surprised. And got told I look great by Jodie, which I’m still reeling from a bit! OHHH! I forgot a key part of any #GallifreyOne convention: the ribbons! The more ribbons you have, the more you'll get. Even a member of the HOTEL STAFF handed out ribbons! Fortunately, I'm tall - a few shorter folks (like the delightful Bonnie Langford) had to toss their ribbon collection over the shoulder, like Tom Baker's scarf. 😆

To wrap up, we had a great time. This was my first Doctor Who-SPECIFIC con since Valley Forge, PA in 1985, and it won't be my last. Thank you, #GallifreyOne!

The big event at #GallifreyOne was the appearance of Jodie Whittaker on both Saturday and Sunday! She was a delight. One story she told was how Chris Chibnall, having just selected Jodie as the Doctor, called David Tennant and said the new Doctor would be calling him shortly for advice. When the phone rang again & Tennant saw the name of his "Broadchurch" co-star on the caller ID, he picked it up and immediately said in delight, "Are you [expletive] kidding me?!" 😍 (cont'd) 8/x

Another good #GallifreyOne panel was about the Sixth Doctor's career on audio and how Big Finish allowed Colin Baker's Doctor to flourish and gain new fans.

Glad Chibnall is getting a warm reception at Gally. I didn’t click with his era, but I don’t doubt he worked damn hard on the show, especially through the logistical nightmare of Covid. Regardless of my opinions on the results, the chap put the work in and for many (probably most) it paid off and he deserves a round of applause. I’d hate to see Chibnall get the treatment Pip n’ Jane Baker got from… well, never mind that, I’m drifting from the point.
