Kirkmaiden-in-Fernis, Monreith. A Dark Ages church near the beach. The bell was taken across Luce Bay to the other Kirkmaiden, but sank in a sudden storm. It is now said to toll for the approaching death of a McCulloch.

Here's my latest wee #history #video , once again about Galloway's lost Railways.The Branch Line to Kirkcudbright opened in 1863 and closed just over 100 years later in 1965. Along the way it saw tragedy, triumph and glory as Scotland's Best Kept Station.
