Attic find. These cool figures I bought when the GameCube game was recent. The eyes are fixed so when you rotate the head you can make the figure look another way. I love these.

I haven't gone out and picked up anything new for my collection for a while now, but I ended up taking a detour while I was out and picked up a Complete-in-box copy of Shivers Two! I found that the box even had a copy of the original game inside. I've never played this one, but I've heard it's good and I'm always open for big box PC and Sierra games.

I know this looks insane, but these are all games I’ve picked up since the start of the year. I’ve been particularly interested in CIB #GBA and #SNES games lately. These are mostly Craigslist pickups but I found Super Mario RPG at an estate sale for $50 so I had to scoop it!

Oh no. I've found that I actually have a copy of a now-rare game I want to play for a history feature, but it's in its original shrink wrap.

So I'm either finding a disc image or videoing an unboxing, I suppose.

I hate the sacred status shrink wrap has taken on in game collecting. I mean, yes, it's great if you want a decent chance of CD-era releases in particular being in good-enough condition to preserve.

But it's so frequently faked, crushes boxes, the cult around it is wild, and its status makes me anxious.

I've literally given away shrinked games rather than deal with the decision or whether to de-shrink.

Don't let's even go into the shrinked copy of Maniac Mansion (a game I don't actually like very much) for NES (a console I'm in no way attached to) that I got for £4 in a UK games shop's remainder bin 25 years ago and have basically spent a quarter of a century glaring at.

If I were inclined to get therapy, this alone would fuel a couple of sessions, I'm sure.

For #PS2sDay Phatasy Star 2 Sega Ages 2500 on the ps2. I usually play on my Retroid or Ayn Odin for the translation patch but you can get a soft mod and play the translated game on the original hardware as well. I like this remake it keeps to the original but enhanced graphics. #videogames #gamecollecting #retrogaming #phantasystar
