After taking a much needed break from game dev, I'm getting a start on turning our fresh gameplay footage into short video clips for social media.

Which leads to the question of which other places are useful for marketing.
Mastodon is nice, but it's clearly not good for audience-building. And I'm not doing TikTok. That's just not my style.
I should probably look at Facebook. Also wondering about Instagram – I have some pretty nice key art, but I'm not sure that's enough. And some people are talking about Tumblr?
Does anyone have suggestions/experiences they'd like to share? 2/2

Shop talk: A few days ago I decided, due to a combination of ethical and safety concerns, to scale my #Twitter presence down to the absolute minimum, i.e. major announcements only.
Would I wish this nonsense hadn't happened right as I'm trying to build an audience for my first game release? Obviously.
But on the other hand, it's not like I've been particularly successful on Twitter anyway, so I'm taking this as a cue to diversify. 1/2

#Gamedev/#indiedev folks: Any recommendations for an easy to use mailing list service? Would only need very low volume, like a mail every few months or so. #gamemarketing

Hey Mastodon! This is Ledameth.
I’ve been working in the game industry for almost a decade. Currently, I’m working as a marketing producer at Resolution Games. Previously I worked for Riot Games and G-Loot.
I’ll probably post about the games I play and enjoy and maybe some posts about #gamemarketing
I’m also a dice maker and a film enthusiast.
Oh well, cheers!
@laure Hey and welcome! If you're fresh to Mastodon, recommend checking out our guide at https://tinyurl.com/welcome-to-mastodon, which covers a bunch of stuff like...
