Had a conversation with friends in discord about #DE-9 #Gameport #controller standards, and how the #MSX and #FMTowns used the same protocol. Except, as I noted, the FMTowns had two extra buttons, start and select.

So someone dug up the schematics of the FM Towns controller, and how they added those two buttons is genius: Select is actually pressing Left and Right on the dpad together, and start is pressing up and down on the dpad together!

I'm avoiding a tough soldering job on the giant #GravisGamePad project, so here's my home-made, proof-of-concept #Audigy #Gameport
adapter - soon, owners of a #CreativeLabs #SoundBlaster SB0240, SB0350, SB0360, SB0900 or SB0090 card (I *think* this covers the compatibility list) will have somewhere to plug in their Gravis GamePads*!
