It’s just kinda sad to see. These days #gamesjournalism sites seem to care way more about being first and farming for easy clicks than ensuring the information they’re providing is factually correct or, you know, actually helpful to people. And this isn’t me blaming the writers/editors, I’m sure they don’t particularly enjoy writing such content, ethically speaking. But when guides are written more for the benefit of the provider than the consumer, that feels like a problem to me.

The story however was fantastic and is really the saving grace for an otherwise clunky and not particularly user friendly gameplay experience.

You don't have to scroll far on the guides and YouTube videos to find people saying the same thing.

Not to mention how a lot of the challenges force you to re-complete your hunting and gathering logs instead of retroactively ticking off your milestones.
It's so disrespectful of your time.

From the perspective of a completionist: This has to be the worst gameplay experience I've had in a long time.

The amount of RNG and collectibles that Rockstar expects you to be okay with screams poor game design. It's not fun and whoever decided that running around aimlessly and resetting the map by sleeping and going into town in the hopes that the thing you need appears is a sadist!

Red Dead Redemption 2's collectibles left me needing a break. There's far too much and the RNG is obnoxious to say the least.

So what do you do when you're stressed out? Go down to the local, drink some beer and play some poker. Legitimately the first time I've been able to chill while playing this game. Was finally able to appreciate how good the atmosphere is in this game.
