2022 Games of the Year :: Counting Up 2-1
2. Vampire Survivors
A damn pleasure to see this game and genre takeover the year. Anyone who touched it, immediately got it. Doesn't hurt that I love destroying creatures of the night.
1. Elden Ring
I'm such a solitary souls player and I don't know if I will ever be done with Elden Ring. Still so much to explore and discover in-between sessions when I just want to finally kill that beautiful thing.
2022 Games of the Year :: Counting Up 5-3
5. Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak
Ironically I ended up on the Deck for this fantastic expansion. Series keeps getting better and so do I.
4. Grounded
Found my survival jam. Obsidian thematically nailed the details and the gameplay curve is balanced. Progression feels great and these bugs stick with me.
3. God of War Ragnarok
In awe of the growth of this franchise. The weight of the combat matches that of the storytelling.

* Midnight Fight Express
* Midnight Suns
* Pokemon Legends Arceus
* Rollerdrome
Sticky stuff:
* Cultist farming
* Digging + shooting + roguelike
* I still like hunting robodinos
* Best brawling combat of the year
* Satisfying combat puzzles, lovably weird friendship builder
* The most Pokemon I've ever done
* Styyyyyyyyyyle + made Tony Hawk with guns really work
2022 Games of the Year :: Did Not Play Regrets List
* Xenoblade Chronicles 3
* Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope
* Signalis
* Immortality
* Return to Monkey Island
* WH40K Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters
The excuses
* I made the mistake of thinking I could play the rest of the franchise first.
* I never make enough time to play strategy games.
* I fail to give narrative focused games and franchises I'm familiar with any play it now urgency.
My 2022 #gamesOfTheYear #goty, in order...
#Tunic
#MultiVersus
#Stray
#MarvelSnap
#LilGatorGame
#ShovelKnightDig
#BlossomTales2
#NekoGolf
#Wordle
#Wordle #nekogolf #blossomtales2 #shovelknightdig #lilgatorgame #MarvelSnap #stray #multiversus #Tunic #goty #gamesoftheyear
A lot of year end "best game" lists are leaving out Horizon Forbidden West, which I think is a huge oversight. It's easily in my top 5 games of the year, and almost definitely top 3.
