Have you ever completed the Second Quest of the original NES Zelda game?

I wouldn't complete it until I started really getting into retro game emulation DECADES later.

It's difficult, way harder than the original quest, but I honestly think it's more fun because of it!

I cannot stress how amazing the art for Super Mario Bros. 2 in the inaugural issue of Nintendo Power magazine is.

I have no doubt in my mind that many a kid were trying to duplicate this in school notebooks instead of memorizing pesky fractions!

(I was an outstanding student myself, trying to draw Ridley from Super Metroid instead of paying any sort of attention 😅 )

The only thing that goes harder than the art used for this Bionic Commando strategy section of issue 2 of Nintendo Power is the thorough, in-depth reasoning behind the character's inability to jump.

The NES Power Pad was an absolute abomination--actually, a great many NES accessories were, uh... less-than-stellar--but this advert made it look like it was the single greatest thing to happen to gaming since the gamepad itself!

(Again, it absolutely was not.)
