The PlayStation Q (streaming controller thing) is about the lamest hardware reveal Sony could've had today. How did we not at least get a PS5 slim/gen 2 announcement today (the one with optional disc drive talked about for months and months now, and likely lower power/heat as well as cost of production. Most likely coming this fall)?

I believe Microsoft will not only be releasing a mid-gen refresh, but 2 of them. An updated S and X. Not some weird third tier as many are talking about.

And they will probably simply call them the Xbox Series X/S 2024 edition. Xbox will move to more of a rolling release, and the series will continue on...

New leaks are suggesting we won't see the Switch 2 until spring of 2024 now. I've been predicting for a while that this was the latest we'd see it, and was hoping it would be out this fall. But it's looking more and more like we should expect it around March 2024

Prediction update: I'm seriously doubting we're going to see a Switch 2 release coincide with BotW 2 in May now. But I still think we'll hear an announcement around then. Probably April at earliest, when their new fiscal year starts, but no latter than August. Maybe we'll even get an E3 reveal.

And I'm still thinking March 2024 release at the latest, but maybe we'll still get it this fall 🤞

Prediction: PS5 slim will come out in 2023. Then a PS5 Pro in 2024. They might end up calling it the PS6, but if so it will be very similar and run the same OS. Establishing a whole new environment for game devs this soon would be too costly.

Meanwhile new revisions of the Xbox Series S & X will come out in 2024 as well.

At very latest 2025. I have some thoughts on their hardware, but I'll put that in the thread...

Prediction: the Switch 2 (or Super Switch, or whatever they call it) will be announced in early 2023. It could come out as early as May to coincide with the release of BotW2, or it could come out later in the year. At very latest it will be out by March 2024 when the #Nintendo fiscal year ends.
