Alltough all the trees, houses and decorations are purely cosmetic and won't intercept with gameplay they give so much value to the game as the world feels so much more legit and fun this way!

No new gameplay today, just a lot of #performance benchmarks and optimisations! Starting from 46fps on ultra settings this morning I'm up to 77 by batching textures, geometry and terrain! Still a lot of potential but we're getting there!

Wow, first post of the week on a thursday... Things are kinda rough right now. However, I've built this how to play screen into #GarbageCrew that shows you short video clips in addition to the various controls.

To finish of this week I've implemented #Discord Rich Presence in #GarbageCrew! It'll show the level you're playing including cute little icons for every level, the time you have left and your player count.
I'm kinda stressed out from working while having to deal with health related stuff for the whole week so I might be off for a few days. 👋

Just finished setting up the testing for tonight. This is a build of #GarbageCrew that automatically joins two players, sets a seed, starts the level and logs the map generation, over and over again to see if the map generation is completely deterministic with identical seeds.
The game had a lot of problems in edge cases that are hopefully fixed by now. I guess I'll see tomorrow!

I've built a powerup that allows you to switch the color of the buckets in #GarbageCrew. You can choose from 26 different color combinations including a lot of #queer #pride colors!

Just build a new powerup that gives the truck this nice dragon costume. When equipped it scares away townfolk that comes close.
Are you scared? I am! 🐲
(Second #screenshot is the ingame view. You'll never see the costume like in the first screenshot except in the store view. But that's probaply better as everybody would be so scared they couldn't play!)

Protip: If you later decide to include your how to play screen not only in the main menu but also in the pause menu maybe think about a formfactor that isn't this:
(Don't get me wrong, i still like the design. It fits the comic style menu perfectly. But it isn't very transferable)

To make a level nice and balanced i've built a thing to show me every possible way as well as the map elements that can be encountered along this way. That was a lot of work but it'll be so usefull when fine tuning spawn rates and level incentives!

Was an easy fix, the time machine console was tagged as "liftable" so I could pick it up. Why I started flying when pressing E while holding the console will stay a mystery.
Don't know if it's good or bad that my own game scored #2 on my most played games 2022😂
