I just did my annual NZ #GardenBirdSurvey. It ends tomorrow, so you've still got time if you've not done yours yet.
It's just one hour in your garden, tallying up the maximum number of each bird species you've got.
Were there any korimako/NZ bellbirds in our garden, you might ask? Why yes. At least six at once, and singing up a storm. Have a listen!

The one problem with the #GardenBirdSurvey running in the last week of June each year is that that's the month when there are usually the fewest birds around our garden! Especially if restricting that to just a specific hour too.
Try doing that a few weeks earlier either side of this, and you'll get vastly different numbers 😂
The last few days I've made sure to put out fresh seeds, peanuts and fat balls for the birds, along with fresh water. I was all ready to count the visitors for the Dutch #GardenBirdSurvey this weekend!
One (1) robin
Zero would've been less rude. 😩
Who’s taking part in the #biggardenbirdwatch this weekend? It’s part of #WinterWatch
If you have my Birds or nature stencils this is a great moment to get all artistic with your #nature recording. If you want more info check out http://bit.ly/EBJgroup or links in bio.

What a day for #birds in the garden! Blackbirds, blackcaps, blue, coal, great & longtailed tits, goldcrest, goldfinches, dunnock, hooded crows, robins, sparrows, wood pigeons, and our first siskin in years (female). @BirdWatchIE #GardenBirdSurvey
BirdWatchIE’s annual #GardenBirdSurvey started yesterday. Everyone can take part and it doesn’t cost a penny! Just note down the highest number of each #bird species you see in your #garden for the next 13 weeks & send it to #Birdwatch. You will so much enjoy doing this! #mastodaoine #citizenscience
