The upside of the & is that most of the trees & shrubs are brand new. There’s very little from which to shake loose the snow yet!

Best thing about this first in the & is that I see some voids appearing. We need more ! And evergolds and everreds of various sizes and textures. ? Let’s go plant shopping to fill the voids!

That did the trick! For some reason the irrigation system connections and controls were originally hidden front & center atop the retaining wall at the sidewalk. Can’t really effectively camouflage the thing much with shrubs or other plants at that awkward spot. Easy access for the periodic backflow inspections that are required is needed. A realisticly painted fiberglass boulder now covers the attraction. You can hardly tell it’s a fake. It blends right in.

More from my city rented house garden ,I had a long concret driveway and we didnt own a car so it was unused .As I rented everything had to be temporary and easily moved so I made it my main veg and fruit patch ,not pretty as it could be ,but it gave me a lot of extra growing space, a nice view out the back door and a bit of privacy as it blocked all the view down the path from the pavement .V cheap to do

Way back I moved into a house with a fairly grim front "garden" but I didnt have much cash.I bought some cheap gravel and some slate chips and cut price fake stone planter and moved soil out od the back garden and some pebbles to make flower beds ,the plants are cheap annual seeds or from poundland etc or plants I dug up from the back garden .I added a few rocks for height and some cheap ikea garden furniture. It cost me well under £100 probably around £50
