Have you ever seen a happier duck?
Millie visited my studio late this afternoon with her two tiddlers (Mike keeping watch from afar). A handful of grain and some porridge oats, and they couldn’t be happier.

Whilst Rita & Ron visit daily, Millie & Mike are regular visitors to my studio too.
Millie is almost certainly sitting on eggs somewhere nearby so expect to see ducklings sometime in April. Millie likes a tough guy. Mike* is blind in one eye and a fierce fighter with any would-be suiters .
* Named after one-eyed Mike Wazowski of Monsters Inc.

Rita’s current routine is breakfast at our place, head out for most of the day (almost certainly nesting but not yet sitting) and then spend a few hours in the afternoon outside my studio. Ron is often close by, warding off any would-be suitors.

It’s ‘tuck your bill under your wing’ cold out there this morning.
This is Rita (Ron the Duck’s partner). Ron has once again claimed our garden as his territory, seeing off any would-be intruders. We think Rita is nesting nearby but not yet sitting as she spends most mornings close to my studio.
