Old clusters of agaves had survived and multiplied in the untended garden over the years. I'm incorporating them into the new plantings as I go along.

Good planting weather! One rose bush Archduke Charles, a small pot of Greek oregano, and dwarf agapanthus Peter Pan all went into the ground this morning. Now they are being watered in by the rain. 💙

Its reputation for beautiful winter blooms was one reason I decided to plant the old tea rose Safrano. It's beginning to come along nicely. After all, it was a major florists' variety in the nineteenth century.
