My partner has an aunt who would dip the tip of a knife in her tiny 2-ounce jar of minced garlic and add that to her dishes. Anything more was "too hot" (garlic hot? wat).
I buy the Costco liter-sized minced garlic, and use multiple tablespoons everywhere...

I grew so much garlic! I grew enough garlic to give away and to use like mad in cooking. The chickens damaged one of the three beds before I protected them, but two of the beds made so many fine bulbs.
#leeks are coming along fine I think. I started two varieties, “verdonnet” and “mechelen blue,” this spring. It’s a rather intricate process - you start them outdoors, in very fine soil, and grow them in crowded rows until summer. Then they get transplanted into properly spaced rows in their full time beds. I’m at that stage - both varieties are knee high, but the dwarf ones are shorter. They look fine and nothing is bothering them, so they’re a win.

Planting in autumn is probably the way to go.
Since mice took out all my #garlic over winter some years ago, I plant in module trays, keep them in a coldhouse and plant out in early spring.

@WordenPond pampered and covered since last fall to protect from the terrible leek moth, our #garlic harvest is also in! Had so much rain this past month (190 mm!), we have been waiting for a dry spell, but all is well. 🧄🧄🧄
