#garlic2023 is doing pretty well. It's been a very warm winter but I don't think it will have been warm enough to prevent bulb division into cloves, as can happen with garilc grown out of season eg planted in spring. 'Summer garlic' can produce bulbs similar to onions or shallots. #gardeningAu
Garlic crops are always a hoot in the first weeks. SPROING! #gardeningAu #garlic2023
It's always great fun to watch garlic crops in the first few weeks after planting. We're having some warmer days with some bright sun warming the soil. #garlic2023 is jumping out of the ground so quickly that you can almost hear them POP! #gardeningAu
#garlic2023 was planted on 25 July 2023. First shoots on 30 July. Day 14, here they come! #gardeningAu
#garlic2023 planting day. Much smaller crop this year because proper crop rotation means we have to use tbe smallest bed, only 2200mm x 4800mm. About 250 plants this time. We grew far too much last year in the big bed, about 550. We're planting later than usual, too, avout 2-3 weeks behind. She'll be right, mate #gardeningAu
