Sculpted head on one of the entrances to the old Gartnavel Royal Hospital building in the west end of Glasgow. I love the expression on the face as if its resigned to all that the world has thrown at it in the last 180 years.

This morning's blue skies over Gartnavel Royal Hospital in Glasgow.
Opened in 1843 and designed by the architect Charles Wilson, Gartnavel Royal Lunatic Asylum (as it was then known) sits on a hill above the west end of Glasgow and casts an imposing presence across this part of the city to this day.
