+1 to my #distrohop history and _yes_ I did say I would stay on #Fedora Kinoite for some time but my blood runs Debian :P

So, this is my distrohop chain

#MXLinux -> #Manjaro -> #GarudaLinux -> #EndeavourOS -> Fedora -> Fedora #Kinoite -> #Devuan (?)

I also just can't help wanting #KDE #Plasma6 because it has _so_ many things I want/need. I will probably distrohop again once Plasma 6 is released, but we'll see.

P.S: I'd stay with MX my whole life time if it had a proper updating solution.

Of #ArchLinux derivatives, #Manjaro is too far behind arch that sometimes breaks AUR, #GarudaLinux uses too much of resources ( It is in their manifesto that they use spare Computing power to beautify the system so can't blame them for that. ) It however uses additional garuda repository on top of arch linux (unlike manjaro which takes arch stable as manjaro unstable)

Now I am on #EndeavourOS which like Garuda uses endeavor repository over Arch so it is similar to Arch and not a resource hog.

Spoke too soon. As soon as I rebooted after installation, #Archcraft had the infamous “missing network connection”. This requires a level of setup (read:hacking ) that I wasn’t prepared for with a Broadcom chip (Bcma/b43 module) running the show. A Realtek chip might have been ok because it uses a different module. So I’ll be giving #GarudaLinux and #EndeavourOS if GL doesn’t work out. One of these #Arch spin-offs ought to… #linux

My experiment with #garudalinux has come to an end. Back to #debian and #gnome. Feels familiar and am happy to be in my comfort zone again. Only wish my HP Dragonfly had a better battery life. 3 hours isn't cutting it anymore :(

@Vivaldi I’ll definitely be very happy, I use #vivaldi on my personal #GarudaLinux desktop and my #work laptop. So to have it on my #iphone would be epic!

Ufff me ha petado el sistema y no me arranca. Realizadas todas las comprobaciones posibles desde la bios, y todo parece OK.
Reinstalando #GarudaLinux con el que llevaba entorno a un mes. Nunca antes me había petado el pc (desde que abandone las ventanas hace muuucho), y hasta ahora he estado con sistemas basados en Ubuntu. Este #GarudaLinux es mi primera prueba de #Arch, con la que estaba muy contento (limpia, muy rápida, buen flow de trabajo), pero al haber petado….
De momento lo vuelvo a instalar por ser el OS que tengo en el usb, y no querer tener que tirar de la Rpi para prepararme otro OS.

Alguien sabe que ha podido pasar? No veo que haya incidencias con este OS (al contrario).

Vaya por delante que soy full newbe en #Arch, ya que vendo de distros basadas en #Debian, principalmente derivados de #Ubuntu
La semana pasada migre a #GarudaLinux, y hoy he tratado de poner en marcha el script que solía usar en Debian para actualizar el sistema... y no me funciona. Obviamenmte he cambiado los comandos de APT por PACMAN, pero es que no consigo que el script guardado en ~/bin se ejecute....

Alguna sugerencia? El script es:

Aqui va mi nuevo #EscritorioGNULinux del #ViernesDeEscritorio. Es simplemente mi nuevo #GarudaLinux Dragonizado Standard, sin modificar nada... Ya llegará.

Día 1 con #GarudaLinux es mi primer Linux que no tiene base debian/ubuntu. Está basado en #Arch y espero amoldarme....
De momento todo lo ha instalado bien, tiene un entorno amigable y parece sencillo de tocar...

El escritorio me parece una pasada y de momento he podido instalar el software más importante y habitual. Faltan cosas, y personalizarlas

Si en 15 días no me convence vuelvo a MXLinux…..
Tengo 2 copias de seguridad de todo, pero vaya pereza volver a empezar a instalar todo, hacia casi 3 años que no lo hacia en mi ordenador. Esperemos a ver que tal.

Yep, Mint only changes its Ubuntu LTS base every two years with minor point releases every ~6 month for the Mint specific stuff.
I am no expert on gaming tough. Guess it works as well as any other Ubuntu based distro.

If you are into that, you might want to try #pop_os (Ubuntu based) or #GarudaLinux (Arch based, also with non KDE versions). I have heard that they are more focused towards the most modern hardware

So finally pulled the plug and used the New Year's holiday to swap from #manjaro to #GarudaLinux !

Smooth transition over and performance seems to be better with the zen kernel. I'm ecstatic with my new choice and a huge shout out to the Garuda Linux team for making a great distro!!!

I've been using #manjaro for about 3 years, but have been thinking to swap to #GarudaLinux over the New Year's break.

(Manjaro has made some decisions lately that I'm not a fan of long term)

With the state of Steam/Proton and Flatpak packaging system, you can game on any distro. It really comes down to which packaging system / desktop environment / distro support lines up with your needs.

I like Arch-based distros for my main PC, but also run #popos on a #system76 laptop 😀

It's done.

More tests & tweaks to the new system in next few days.

Now I must rest. Been long days with little sleep.

También antes de instalar #linux empecé viendo vídeos de #YouTube para ver que #distro queria instalar. A travez del canal de #christitustech conoci #linuxmint y cómo el sabe mucho de Windows, Mac y Linux me sentí cómodo en sus argumentos. También elegí un #entornodeescritorio que también lo fuera y cómo estaba acostumbrado a Windows 7 opté por el escritorio #cinnamon , he probado otros entornos como #gnome #lxqt #xfce #kdeplasma y siento con el más cómodo me siento son con #linuxmint y #GarudaLinux . Con que entornos de escritorio les gusta a Uds?
