It took a while, but we got there in the end! The #GasSaga concludes!
#Energia have come back with an adjustment to our gas consumption of over 20,000kWH, equating to a credit of well over €2,000!
People with good memories might remember that this started when we input a gas reading and were told our next bill would be over €4,000, and when we challenged this were told we'd have to pay to have the meter tested if it wasn't faulty, like that was even a possibility!

The ongoing #GasSaga - So last Monday week, everything switched off, we "used" 2.5m3 of gas over 4 hours (while I ran a Dungeons & Dragons game, nobody cooked, or used the boiler). The meter was swapped out on Thursday morning of last week. Between then and now, 4 people, cooking dinner with gas hob 5 days, water heating for showers, etc.: we used 7.1m3. A *lot* more reasonable! But apparently it might take #Energia up to 3 months to revert with a refund proposal...
The gas saga. Meter was swapped out this morning. The reading on Monday at 23:30 was 16451m3. The final reading this morning was 16535m3. That's 84m3 in approximately 60 hours.
In previous summer billing periods, we've used between 40 and 112m3. For the whole two months!
The Gas Networks engineer told me my old meter has *not* been tagged as needing testing. Another phone call to #Energia incoming. Time to get a named responsible person. #Energia #GasSaga
