I usually guess at a stitch count, and then check gauge when I have c. 60 stitches on the needles on the basis of which I calculate a true count. I normally knit socks at ˜9 st/in, but my gauge on this swatch/toe is 10.5 st/in. My needles are the same 2.25mm I always use, except, when I pulled out my digital caliper, they're actually 2.11mm while the other 2.25mm needles I have to hand are actually 2.36mm. @knitting #knitting #gauge
