Thinking about setting up the Gamecube just to play #Gauntlet Dark Legacy. I'm still surprised there hasn't been a console re-release of it, given that it's one of the best multiplayer games of all time.

If I had the time for such things, I'd consider building a clone: super low-fi with a few modern additions: a very light loot system and skill tree and a super-convenient drop-in play so friends can use an already-leveled character without them having to build one from scratch. #videogames

I was wondering how big the maps are in Gauntlet. I haven't found any site that has the maps. I did find the NES ones but even that only had a subset of maps. Anyone know of any site with this information? #Gauntlet #gamedev

Played some #Gauntlet yesterday. I wondered how it handled making sure you had enough keys. If player 1 has all the keys and dies, the keys are gone. Their solution is that doors disappear after some time. I've never stuck around long enough on a level to see it until yesterday. #gamedev

Growing up, I always avoided the "knights & ninjas" genre of #videoGames. Dodging bullets wasn't my thing. So I totally slept on #gauntlet.

But that #game still slaps to this day despite never really getting out of the #8bit era.

As much as my cousins and I played #multiplayer games I know we would have spent hours with that one if we hadn't been scared of the cover art.

Right. Windows is dead. Ubuntu didn't make nearly this much fuss when I didn't upgrade it for years, but it did at least get regular turning-on.

I guess I will just play a Linux-compatible game at my birthday party then.

If it also works on steam-deck that's even better.

#RetroMonday Part 3 #GAUNTLET Me my brother and 2 best mates would sneak into a Snooker Hall in Wandsworth (as we were underage and obviously not members) and try and get as many games in before we got spotted and thrown out. 😂 At the time I don’t think I had seen a 4 player cabinet and everything about this game had me hooked especially the amazing speech, we always picked the same characters and to this day when I play I still pick my character from back then (Wizard) #ShareYourGames

I didn't have a ton of experience with Gauntlet as a kid but I did play Gauntlet 64 a good bit.

Might be something worth taking a retro nibble soon though!
