Today’s #GayBookReview is for “Malena MCD,” a stand-alone story set in the #SciFi Virasana Empire created by Beryll Brackhaus and Osiris BrackHaus.
Mauve is a ‘pet,’ a genetically engineered sex slave, and not a fancy one, either. His genes didn’t produce quite what the breeders hoped for, so he ended up in the bargain bin. He’s had a succession of brutal, uncaring owners from the underbelly of Malicorn society who used him and passed him on when they became bored. His latest master has been shot dead, along with his gang of thugs, and so Mauve is now ‘evidence’ in the investigation. One of the officers investigating the case, Alexej, doesn’t like the idea of keeping Mauve in the cells of the evidence locker and wants to take him home instead. His wife and partner, Andrea, reluctantly agrees, and Mauve’s eyes are opened to a different world.

The year's first #GayBookReview - "Rough Around the Edges" is the 5th book of the Tales From the Edge series by L.M. Somerton. Kai was orphaned at a young age and raised by his uncle, who sent now 20 years old young man to a conversion clinic when he discovered Kai was gay. The Edge's owner Carey rescues Kai along with his own submissive, Alistar. When they arrive at Carey's club, the bar manager Harry immediately takes Kai under his wing.
#GayBookReview - In "The Alien Bodyguard" by Eryn Ivers, Oliver Turner is on the planet Teva to negotiate some business deals that he hopes will bring peace and stability to the war-ravaged southern hemisphere as well as bring more money into the ultra-rich Turner family's coffers. Mal'ik is a former soldier assigned to guard and manage security for Oliver while he is on Teva. How can the beautiful young human be attracted to a scarred old warrior?

#gayBookReview General of the Roman army and nephew of the emperor Marius is gifted a pleasure slave by a twisted noble seeking favor. Although not into men, Marius has no choice but to accept the malnourished Celt, Kyle. As the two get to know each other, different feelings emerge, and the growing bond between them puts both men in danger. Omnia Vincit Amor is an ambitious epic love story that doesn't follow a typical #gayromance plot. https://michaeljoseph.info/series/omnia-vincit-amor/

#gayBookReview One of the best of 2022: "Potential Energy" #sciFi by Kim Fielding. Haz Taylor is down on his luck, and he's been there for a year now. Hope for escape from the backwater planet he's on comes from his old commander, who wants him to take a misstion. It seems simple enough. Transporting a religious artifact back to the planet it was stolen from. But when Haz meets the 'artifact,' everything changes. 5-star review https://michaeljoseph.info/blog/2022/review-potential-energy-kim-fielding/

#gayBookReview Among the books that have helped define "me" you may be surprised by "Duck", an avian #shifter #gay #BDSM story by Kim Dare. I cannot overstate the degree with which I identified with the submissive Ori. It set me on an exploration of #Dom / #sub relationships that continues to this day. https://michaeljoseph.info/blog/2011/review-duck/

#gayBookReview A classic of #BDSM: "I Once Had a Master" by John Preston is a collection of nine short stories by one of the masters (if you’ll pardon the expression) of #gay BDSM erotica. 5-star review https://michaeljoseph.info/blog/2012/review-i-once-had-a-master/
#gayBookReview "Livestock" an intense, even extreme, #BDSM #poly story about a demanding dominant and his 'herd' of submissives by Danny Tyran. It's told from the point of view of a young man who seeks to join the herd. https://michaeljoseph.info/blog/2022/review-livestock-danny-tyran/

#gayBookReview 4.5-star review of "Too Like the Lightening" contemporary #gayRomance by Travis Beaudoin. Andrew arrives at a borrowed house in the middle of nowhere that a friend has let him use for the summer. He's greeted by the stunningly beautiful son of the caretaker, who shows him around and seems just as sweet as he looks. There's definitely a mutual attraction, but the age gap and the limited time Andrew will be around holds him back. https://michaeljoseph.info/blog/2022/review-too-like-lightening-travis-beaudoin/

#gayBookReview Binge-worthy book series: "Star Marked Warriors" #kidnappedByAliens #sciFi by Sam Burns and W.M. Fawkes.
