I 1st learned of "The Children's Hour" in a Gay Movie class.

I just watched it again. It was quite a risk to make it at that time and, as was typical of such movies then, when the gay character had to die or suffer in some way.

It is one of my favorite movies in which Shirley McClaine & Audrey Hepburn acted. Both gave exceptional dramatic performances for which they received some (but not much) recognition; the lack of which has to be attributed to its content.

If you consider yourself a movie buff and are interested in LGBQT matters and have never seen it, I suggest you do.

Just watched the movie on FreeVee (previously IMDB & now owned by Prime) and thought it was lame.

In case there's any doubt, I would have thought it was lame regardless of the gender ROMCOM combination.

Is the book any better?
