Game starts like this:
Moki, a monster kid, suddenly wakes up and realizes he's almost late for school.
This will be a top down story driven RPG where your choices will matter.
I did not get enough time to do as much as I would, so this jam entry can be seen as chapter 1.

In my Game Boy Color game I have a maze generator I really like, and I wanted to have Maffi exploring some cyberspace world, but I didn't really have much in mind to do within the maze except for finding the exit.
I tried having some gameplay involving randomly appearing enemies that you attack by just shooting at them, but that didn't feel very fitting. So recently I got the idea to have her attack with paint and such, having it mark the ground and having that do things (currently slowing down enemies).
I feel like this has potential but I need to keep exploring it. I might just try and copy Splatoon's rollers or brushes haha. I know for a fact those are fun.

Even though I don't find Game Boy programming as difficult as I used to, there's still some parts that are really tricky and complicated for me, mostly in regards to graphics.
It feels like you primarily want to do graphical updates during horizontal blank (between scanlines) because its horizontal blanks are relatively big and its vertical blank is relatively small. But this means that tearing is something to worry about, and if you're using an interrupt to do mid-screen palette changes for some sort of effect then it may interfere with mid-screen palette changes done just to update the palette in general, like for a fade animation. So I have to be careful that the two kinds of palette changes don't overlap, whereas on SNES bulk palette changes would've just been DMA and the effects would've been HDMA and they would happen at separate times.

Made a ROM patch to run Fydo's Magic Tiles on the #MegaDuck. It's a charming puzzle game by ohnotomsutton.
It's a fun puzzle game to play with unlockable achievements. The game is a good fit since OEM Mega Duck screen has bad motion blur and poor contrast.
