Was looking for a simple species distribution map. No luck on wiki, stupid #licensing terms (written permission required if I'm getting it right. I'm really surprised) at IUCN Well... Species account pages at @gbif have map just good enough, it should be #CC, should it? I've spent half an hour trying to figure it out by googling, reading parts of the GBIF site. And there is no direct statement "yes, our maps are published on terms of license X". Nowhere. Just "well, guys, be nice and cite us with reference X". And tons of discussions about licensing for different datasets.
Can anyone tell me why not to add something like CC-BY-NC if you in fact ask for this in a informal way?
