Moki, a monster kid, suddenly wakes up and realizes he's almost late for school.
This will be a top down story driven RPG where your choices will matter.
I did not get enough time to do as much as I would, so this jam entry can be seen as chapter 1.

I need a name for my main character
Any ideas?💡
I've been using "monster kid" as reference name for the time I've been working on this game for now (1 month).
He is basically a monster kid. He lost his dad during a brutal war against humans. His mom is still there taking care of him.
2nd screenshot is a sprite variant where "Monster Kid" wears a cardboard box on his head.

For those who are not familiar with #GBDK, it's also used by the #GBStudio and #ZGB game engines.
The dev kit has a long history going back to ~1997, and appears it may have even been used in several commercial #GameBoy Color games, such as Rhino Rumble, Snoopy Tennis, a few Barbie games, etc.

Messing around with a few ideas got me thinking I'm probably overthinking what kind of game I'd make for Pear (the titular elf girl, hehe tit), I kept thinking of something with a story when I can just make some basic platformer that rewards you with gallery pictures if you collect hidden items around the levels.
